The Catherine Elizabeth Blair Memorial Foundation is proud to announce our new partnership with the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. ALSF and our foundaiton share a vision of funding cutting-edge research to find safer, more effective treatments and cures for children with cancer. The Catherine Elizabeth Blair Memorial Foundation is giving a $25,000 grant to help fund Dr. Yael Mosse's research project, titled "Drugging MYCN." Funded through the Crazy 8 Initiative, Dr. Mosse's goal is to develop targeted drugs for MYCN, a currently "undruggable" driver of pediatric cancer. Based out of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, her team consists of six researchers across multiple disciplines and institutions.
We chose this project in part because Catherine had Stage 4 MCYN-amplified neuroblastoma. The lofty goal of "curing the incurable" doesn't seem impossible when so many experts are collaborating to find new ways to treat and cure neuroblastoma.
